current ROLES AVAILABLE
Maths Mentor (Years 7–10, 0.6 FTE)
Be part of something special at our small, alternative high school in Gippsland.
At VHS, our students have the choice of working through the Maths curriculum online (via Maths Pathway) or in face-to-face classes (or a combination of both). We are currently looking for a teacher who is able to oversee and support the progress of all students, and deliver engaging classes for students who prefer learning with a teacher.
Classes are grouped by curriculum level, rather than enrolled level, and many of these students enjoy learning through hands-on activities rather than just textbook.
We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary Maths Teacher who enjoys working with young people and creating engaging, student-centred learning experiences. At our school, the wellbeing of students and staff is at the heart of everything we do.
This position commences Term 1, 2026.
What we’re looking for:
● Experience teaching Secondary Mathematics
● Current VIT registration (or eligibility)
● Demonstrated understanding of Applied Learning methods
● Commitment to wellbeing, collaboration, and innovative practice
For early career teachers, the pay level will be close to the Victorian Government Schools Award, particularly if you have had experience in an alternative education setting.
The role is based at the Ryanston Campus.
If you’re passionate about education that empowers young people, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications close: Sunday, 9th November 2025
To apply: Please complete the online application, or send your resume and a short rundown of your experience to Taz Herman (Head of Maths) at admin@villagehighschool.org – we’d love to hear your story!
Please keep an eye out on our social media or website for any future job opportunities with VHS.
